We all know by now that fast food isn’t great for us; in fact, it can be downright terrible for your body when you make a consistent habit of ordering it. That being said, sometimes we just get the urge to down a large fry that’s covered in salt and is sure to send our blood pressure through the roof. When this is the case, you want to pick the right fast-food joint to indulge your taste buds in, because your stomach can only take so much fake food before you start to feel the consequences. Not to worry though, we’ve got you covered. Here are some of the most popular fast-food options available.

McDonald’s

You knew this was going to be on the list, so why not start off strong. McDonald’s—a.k.a. “Mickey D’s”—is by far the most popular fast-food chain in the world, with over 40,000 locations available; if you live in the city, the closest one is probably no more than a baseball’s throw away. They’ve got burgers, fries, chicken nuggets, milkshakes—you’ve been to McDonald’s, we don’t really need to give you a breakdown of their menu, do we? While Burger King is a worthy rival, and have some excellent items on their menu, McDonald’s is simply too powerful to compete with. Ronald McDonald has something for everyone: Happy Meals and a play place for kids and Big Macs for adults—just don’t expect their ice-cream machine to be working.

Taco Bell

Authentic Mexican cuisine it is not, but it sure does hit the spot. T-Bell has all the hook ups: Crunchwrap Supremes, Quesaritos, Doritos Locos Tacos, Cinnibons, Baja Blast. What more could you ask for? It’s perfect for late-night food runs when coming home from work, leaving an event, or grabbing a meal off-campus. Be wary about eating this in your vehicle though, otherwise, you’ll likely need an entire car interior restoration to clean up the mess.

Wendy’s

As the only place where you can get a Frosty, Wendy’s is a fan favorite in terms of fast food. Their nuggets? Crispy. Their burgers? Delicious. Their Frosties? Well, they’re frosty. Anytime we can grab a Baconator, we’re happy. With so many fast-food burger options in the world, Wendy’s somehow manages to stand out among the rest.

KFC

Kentucky Fried Chicken is the place to stop if you’re looking for a bucket of mouthwatering chicken. The Colonel must know what he’s doing because they’ve also got great mashed potatoes with gravy and savory buttermilk biscuits. While you might feel reserved about heading into a KFC without a group to accompany you, they’ve got plenty of single-meal options that are more appropriate for one person. Finger-licking good? Check.

Domino’s

Who can say no to a slice of pizza? Domino’s is the most sought-after fast-food pizza around, and for good reason: their pizza is fast and delicious. You can get a variety of toppings, as expected, like pepperoni, sausage, olives, pineapple, and much, much more. What’s even better is the fact that they deliver, so you can keep the party going without having to go out for your pizza pie.

Subway

If you don’t want to completely hate yourself after eating, Subway is a safe option. They offer customers a variety of customization options for their sandwiches, from the type of bread and meat to the veggies and condiments. While certain sandwiches can prove to be just as high in calories as other fast-food restaurants, there are several healthier options to pick from. We still miss the five-dollar footlong, but at least we can eat fresh any time of the day.

Satisfied?

With all the different fast-food restaurants at your disposal, there is no doubt that you’ll be able to find one that can satiate your neverending hunger. And if you’re less mainstream than the rest of the population, you can take comfort in knowing that there are countless runner-ups that did not make the list, such as Jimmy Johns, Jack-in-the-Box, Arby’s, Hardees, and many more. Try one, try them all!—just don’t have a heart attack in the process.
